Kinevia Clinical Study

A clinical study conducted at the Ulm-RKU University and Rehabilitation Clinics assessed the Kinevia and Kinevia Duo movement therapy systems in seven patients aged 22–77 with paralysis or neuromuscular conditions.

The study included both passive and active exercise, with settings individually adjusted for each patient, including speed, resistance, pedal radius, and spasm control. The systems were evaluated for their ability to support upper and lower limb rehabilitation through controlled and progressive movement.

The study reported several positive outcomes, including increased alertness, improved blood supply to trained muscles, stabilisation of circulatory function, and increased general wellbeing. The Kinevia was considered useful for patients experiencing loss of arm or leg function associated with conditions such as spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, brain injury, and other neuromuscular disorders. The study also found the system’s controls and display were easy to use, with smooth acceleration and an integrated spasm detection function.

Kinevia Product Configurator FAQs

The Kinevia AL is the base model, providing the core functionality for lower and upper limb movement therapy. The Kinevia AL+ builds on this with a wider range of enhanced features and customisation options, including an adjustable base, additional adjustment options, premium pedals, and other accessories designed to accommodate a broader range of patient needs.
Yes. Both the Kinevia AL and AL+ can be configured with a range of options and accessories for upper and lower limb therapy. These include specialist handles, arm guidance systems, gloves, adjustable pedals, calf supports, fastening systems, and other accessories. Some options need to be selected during manufacturing, while others can be added later.
Start with the Kinevia AL as your base model, then work through the configurator above to select the features and accessories you need. Any options that must be included during manufacturing should be selected at this stage. Once your configuration is complete, you can generate a configuration that will be sent to our Sales or Enquiries team, who can confirm pricing and guide you through the next steps.
Kinevia provides Passive, Assisted, and Active exercise modes, allowing therapy to be adapted to different levels of patient ability. Active training also offers 20 resistance levels, supporting progressive muscle and strength training. The system also includes adjustable spasm detection settings to help tailor therapy to individual patients.
Many Kinevia accessories can be purchased and added separately after the initial manufacture. However, some features—such as certain screen, adjustment, and customisation options—need to be selected when the Kinevia is manufactured. If you're unsure which options to choose, our team can help you configure the system around your patients and clinical requirements.
